About the event
Satuday & Sunday Interclub Meetings
Welcome to our second event of this busy April with our Easter weekend Interclub meeting.
This will be an early season opportunity to see some of the quickest hill climb cars in the country with British champion, Wallace Menzies, 2015 champion, Alex Summers, six times champion, Scott Moran and three-times winner, Trevor Willis all competing for BTD.
As well as our usual 4-wheel action, this weekend, we welcome back the crowd pleasing NHCA (National Hill Climb Association). Simon and Jayne Foster will be hurling their astonishingly quick Honda outfit up the track. ‘The NHCA are very much looking forward to our 1st event at loton park for 2022,’ Simon told us.  ‘With 35 entrants per day and a wide range of classic and modern solo's and a very competitive 3-wheeler class, we hope to give you all a spectacular show'
Another highlight of the weekend will be the annual visit to Loton Park of the DEWS Downton Minis Championship. The DEWS (Downton Engineering Works Social-Club) was created by former employees from the famous Downton Engineering works that closed in 1976. The Mini was such an intransient part of Downton’s history that when it was the famous little car’s 50th anniversary in 2009, the club held a Mini only track day event at Gurston Down with demonstration runs and charity hill rides. The club runs various events in its calendar and raises large amounts of money for good causes.
