Easter Weekend Action

Over the Easter Weekend Loton hosted two National B events that included rounds of the Allswage Loton Park Championship, the ANWCC Hill Climb Championship, the Bugatti Owner’s Club and License Championship, the SBD HSA Speed Championship and the National Hillclimb Association (Motorbikes) Championship. Several incidents on Sunday - including one that required both the air and county ambulances - resulted in a long day on the hill for everyone but there was some good racing in largely dry conditions. FTD was taken by Trevor Willis with a time of 47.71 with Jason Mourant a close second in 47.84.

Monday’s enemy was the weather. Despite promises that it would soon clear, the rain lasted until well into the afternoon and it took its toll on the running of the day with a number of spins and stoppages that resulted in another late finish.

The consistent Jason Mourant in the Gould GR55 with a time of 48.15 was again second fastest, this time behind Richard Spedding in the GWR Raptor at 47.96. Felix Summers was third fastest in the DJ Firehawk at 50.58 seconds

For the second day of the weekend, we were well entertained by NHCA. Richard Smith from Halesowen riding his Honda CRF led the Solo up to 500cc class, stopping the clock at 61.45. In the Solos over 500cc class Stu Mills crossed the line in 61.17 on his Aprilia.

Well done to the marshals, officials, drivers and riders for dealing with two long and testing days and thanks to everyone for putting on a great event.
